In honor of the 2022 US Grand Prix, Google Chrome team asked Active Theory / Buttermax to create a campaign site to highlight their partnership with McLaren F1 and the features of the Chrome browser. I was the producer for the original site as well as an update in 2023.
The result was Chrome Pit Crew, a series of minigames to test your speed and reaction time against McLaren’s pit crew. We created a 3D pit stop, car model, animated pit crew and driver, and share card for people to brag about their scores. A real-time standings board even lets users see where they rank against the competition. It resets every day, so you can keep training and try to snag the #1 position again tomorrow.
Chrome Pit Crew was awarded an FWA Site of the Day, Awwwards Site of the Day, and CSSDA Site of the Day, and was featured in a Shorty Award finalist campaign starring McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris.
